  • What is WholyFit®?
    WholyFit® is a Christ-centered alternative to yoga. It is a "Bible study in motion". You will move to Scripture as God's Word moves in you. The Bible is healing to body, soul and spirit because Jesus, the Word made flesh, is the Creator, Great Physician and Prince of Peace. Our foundation scripture is 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24, “May God himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together—spirit, soul, and body—and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ. The One who called you is completely dependable. If he said it, he’ll do it!” WholyFit® branded classes feature a 5-phase system which incorporates stability, strength, flexibility and restoration into every workout. With more than 140 exercises, you will get a total body workout and never get bored! And, WholyFit® classes are more effective and safer than conventional exercise. Our unique layering system allows women of ALL fitness levels to tailor their workouts for their fitness levels and goals. This original flexibility, core and stress management program will stretch your faith, not just your body, because our focus is to build up the Body of Christ and disciple through the Word.
  • How is WholyFit® different from yoga?
    While some WholyFit® movements are similar to yoga (the body can only move in a finite number of ways) many look nothing like yoga poses. WholyFit® is a Christ-centered exercise program. Movements provide a balance of flexibility, strength, endurance and relaxation. The foundation is God's Word. It is "devotional exercise" or a "Bible study in motion." Yoga is a Hindu theistic philosophy teaching the suppression of all activity of body, mind, and will in order that the self may realize its distinction from them and attain liberation" (Webster's dictionary) Asana (physical posture) is one of the 8 limbs of yoga, and no matter how well intended by instructors or practitioners, it cannot be separated from the religion to which it is 'yoked' (yoga means to yoke.) Jesus tells us in Matthew 11:29: Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. WhoyFit® is an alternative that provides better health benefits because it's rooted in the True Word of God, and not in a false religion that worships 1,000,000 gods. Where the Word is, there is life. WholyFit® is truly Word-infused workouts!
  • What are some of the benefits of WholyFit®?

The recommendations of the American College of Sports Medicine include: A general stretching program that involves stretches for all the major muscle groups in the body. The use of static (motionless or stationary) stretching is probably the most effective form of stretching for the majority of people. During static stretching a joint is slowly moved through its full range of movement, until a stretch is felt in the muscles on the side of the joint being stretched. A stretching program that is performed at least 2-3 days a week. Physically, WholyFit strives to balance flexibility, strength, endurance and relaxation. Exercises are performed through full ranges of movement. This increases the body's ability to operate as one functional unit. There is now evidence that gentle stretches help prevent or reverse osteoporosis, actually increasing bone density, and can ease symptoms of menopause.
  • Do I need to be at a certain fitness level to participate in classes?
    The simple answer is NO! Our exercise methodology is an original way of meeting everyone's needs regardless of fitness level. Classes are self-paced and multi-layer, suitable for everyone, regardless of fitness level.
WholyFit has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself! After the second class I attended I knew this was what my mind, body and soul needed! I sleep so much better than I have in a very long time. I will participate in WholyFit classes for as long as they are available. I’m a lifer!
